Trelix Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2026 · Version 1.0

Trelix is operated by CommVergent Automation LLC (“CommVergent,” “we,” “us”).

This policy describes what information Trelix collects, how it is used, and how long it is kept. Trelix is a business-to-business service used by professional firms (“Firms”) to exchange files with their clients (“Recipients”). We deliberately collect as little as the service requires.

1. Information we collect

From Firm users (people invited by a Firm):

  • Email address, assigned role, and firm affiliation.
  • Sign-in and session activity (timestamps of access).
  • Transfer metadata you create: labels, file names and sizes, timestamps, expiration settings, and which user created each transfer.

From Recipients (a Firm’s clients):

  • Recipients do not create accounts, and we do not collect names, profiles, or contact information from them. Recipients interact with Trelix only through a private link provided by the Firm.
  • Files a Recipient uploads at a Firm’s request are held for the Firm until the transfer expires (see Section 4).

Automatically:

  • A single session cookie, used solely to keep authenticated Firm users signed in. Trelix does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers.
  • Standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) maintained by our hosting providers for security and reliability.
  • Aggregate usage records per Firm (bytes transferred, transfer counts) for service integrity and billing accuracy.

Billing (Firms only):

  • Payment is processed by Stripe, Inc. We do not receive or store card numbers. We receive from Stripe the information needed to administer the subscription (such as billing contact, plan, and payment status). Stripe’s handling of payment data is described in Stripe’s own privacy policy.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the service: authenticate users, deliver transfers, send operational email (sign-in links, transfer notifications).
  • To secure the service: detect abuse, enforce tenant isolation, maintain audit records.
  • To bill Firms and measure service usage against plan allowances.
  • To communicate with Firms about the service itself.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use the contents of transferred files for any purpose other than delivering them; file contents are never read, scanned for advertising, or used to train any system.

3. How information is shared

We share information only with the service providers that operate Trelix’s infrastructure, and only as needed to run the service:

ProviderPurpose
Vercel Inc.Application hosting
Cloudflare, Inc. (R2)Encrypted file storage
Supabase, Inc.Managed database
CommVergent-operated email infrastructure (with underlying email service providers)Transactional email delivery
Stripe, Inc.Payment processing

We may disclose information if required by law, and in that case will notify the affected Firm unless legally prohibited. If CommVergent is ever party to a merger or asset sale, information may transfer with the service subject to this policy.

4. Retention and deletion

  • Files: deleted permanently when a transfer expires — automatically on the Firm’s configured schedule, or immediately when a Firm user expires the transfer. Expired transfers cannot be recovered by anyone, including us.
  • Transfer metadata: retained as part of the Firm’s records for the life of the Firm’s account.
  • Firm user records: retained while the account exists; disabled users are retained for attribution and audit purposes until the Firm’s account is deleted.
  • Usage and billing records: retained as required for accounting.
  • Account deletion: when a Firm’s account is deleted, its users, transfers, files, and metadata are removed; billing records are retained as required by law.

5. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to Firm data is isolated per Firm and validated on every request. The platform operator cannot access any Firm’s transfer contents; that boundary is structural in the application. A fuller description is published at www.trelix.us/security.

6. Your choices and rights

  • Firm users can review their information within the product, and Firm administrators control user membership.
  • You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at support@email.trelix.us. We will respond within a reasonable period, and honor rights available under the law that applies to you.
  • Recipients who have questions about files exchanged with a Firm should contact that Firm directly; the Firm controls its transfers.

7. Children

Trelix is a professional business service and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

8. Changes

We will post any changes to this policy at this address with a new effective date, and will notify Firms of material changes by email.
